Body cam footage from the scene of Venus Williams’ deadly June 9 accident has been released. In it, a police officer told Williams that she was technically at fault for the accident but said he wasn’t going to cite her because she got caught in the middle of the intersection.

“You just got stuck in a bad situation here,” he later said. “Let the insurance companies work it out. I don’t feel comfortable writing you a citation when I’m not 100 percent sure, and I’m not 100 percent sure in this case.”

The body cam footage shows the Barsons sitting in their car after their airbags were deployed. Linda suffered broken bones, while Jerome was hospitalized for 2 weeks before he died from his injuries, according to TMZ.

The couple had T-boned Williams in the crash. Williams was driving about 5 mph when the collision occurred, according to PEOPLE.

A 911 call from the crash illustrated some of the panic of the situation. The caller described Jerome Barson as badly bleeding from his arm and leg.
