Chloe Ayling was reportedly caught lying to the police.
The 20-year-old British model made headlines around the world when she was kidnapped and drugged after going to a bogus photo shoot in Milan. She claimed she was held hostage by a group of men who wanted to sell her as part of a human trafficking ring.
According to the The Sun, she reportedly was "caught lying" when questioned by authorities.
The publication shares that Ayling was questioned at length about her horrifying ordeal. At one point, in three separate interviews--which spanned nearly 13 hours--she was asked about the clothes she was wearing. She said the kidnappers gave them to her. But a shopkeeper said that she purchased the shoes with one of the kidnappers, Lukasz Herba (seen below). She apparently burst into tears at this statement, saying, “It is true. I went with him to buy the shoes.’’
The police dossier reportedly continues with an officer asking, “So why did you lie to us?’’ Ayling then broke down and said, “I don’t have a reasonable explanation.’’
Herba and his brother are two of the men accused of kidnapping Ayling and stuffing her in a suitcase. Herba was arrested when he dropped off Ayling at the British Embassy in Milan.
Lukasz Herba's lawyer has openly questioned Ayling's story in court. Earlier, he accused the model of being an attention seeker who had shown publicity-driven behavior in the past.
"There is a real risk that the entire case is a sham," Herba's lawyer George Hepburne Scott said. He added that aside from shopping, the two also went to breakfast, which was suspicious behavior.
