The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is searching for two men suspected of beating and kidnapping a man off the street in broad daylight.

Authorities released images of two men witnesses say drove up to a man in his 30s walking southbound on Michillinda Ave. in an unincorporated area of Pasadena, then exited their vehicle and started to beat the man before loading him into the backseat of a silver 2008 Infiniti and driving away.

The attack occurred around 5:33 p.m. on Thursday.

Witnesses told investigators that it appeared the men may have known each other.

Law enforcement authorities are still searching for the missing man, who was described as a bald Hispanic man in his 30s. He’s estimated to be about 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighing 145 pounds. The man was shirtless and wearing grey shorts when he was kidnapped off the streets, authorities said.

The man’s kidnapping comes just days after a California family was kidnapped at gunpoint from their family business in Merced.

Surveillance video showed the suspect, who has been identified as disgruntled former employee Jesus Salgado, leading Jasdeep Singh and his brother Amandeep Singh out of the business with their hands tied behind their back with zip ties. He forced the men into a pickup truck and then drove away, according to The Associated Press.

He returned a few minutes later and allegedly kidnapped Jasdeep Singh’s wife Jasleen Kaur and the couple’s 8-month-old daughter Aroohi Dheri.

All four were later found dead Wednesday in an Almond orchard.

Salgado is being held on kidnapping and murder charges in that case. His brother, Alberto Salgado, was arrested on charges of criminal conspiracy, accessory and destroying evidence after authorities accused him of helping his brother destroy evidence.
