Man Accused Of Killing, Cannibalizing Grindr Date Allegedly Chased 'Terrified,' Half-Naked Man Out Of His Home A Month Prior

Mark David Latunski's neighbor Michael Parks said a scared man wearing only a leather kilt ran to him for help after Latunksi allegedly chained him up in his basement, a month before hairdresser Kevin Bacon was found mutilated there.

The man accused of brutally killing and cannibalizing a Michigan hairdresser around Christmas before hanging his corpse from the ceiling of a hidden basement room allegedly chased a scared, partially naked man out of the same basement a month earlier.

Mark David Latunski, 50, allegedly murdered, mutilated and ate part of Kevin Bacon, 25, on either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day after they met up on Grindr, an affidavit filed Monday, obtained by WJRT-TV in Flint, Michigan, revealed.

Weeks before that Bacon was found dead, on Nov. 25, Michigan State Police troopers were called to Latunski's rural home after a neighbor called 911. A 29-year-old man allegedly fled Latunski’s home wearing nothing but a leather kilt in 40-degree weather, according to MLive. Latunski allegedly chased after him.

"I got a pounding on my door at like four in the afternoon. And, I heard hysterical screaming," Latunski's neighbor, Michael Parks, told local outlet WJRT last week.

He said the man was holding a rag to his face, and was bleeding from the mouth. Parks recalls he was “screaming, just bloody murder screaming -- help me, help me, help me!"

Soon after, Parks said Latunski pulled into his driveway and Parks shooed him away, telling him he had just called 911.

When troopers arrived, the kilt-wearing man told them that he had been chained up in Latunski’s basement, according to MLive. However, no charges were filed in that incident and police ultimately decided that the chaining was consensual and that Latunski was only chasing the man to get his kilt back.

“Upon arrival, what we found was that the homeowner was only chasing him because he left the house and the kilt was very expensive,” Michigan State Police Lt. Dave Kaiser told MLive. The kilt was valued at about $300.

“Nobody wanted to file a complaint or file a police report,” Kaiser added. “No criminal act was discovered and there was nothing we could do as law enforcement.”

Parks claims that he had also seen one other person running from his neighbor's home in horror since November, according to WJRT.

Latunksi allegedly stabbed Bacon in the back of the neck and slit his throat before hanging his corpse upside down by its ankles with rope in his basement’s hidden room. Latunski also allegedly admitted to cutting off Bacon’s testicles and eating them.

"It's horrifying, to think that we were sitting here having Christmas dinner and this was going on across the street," Parks told WJRT.

Latunski’s attorneys plan to argue insanity for their client and on Wednesday, a judge ordered a mental evaluation for him. During his arraignment, it was said Latunski believes his name is Edgar Thomas Hill and he was born to nobility in Wales, according to local television outlet WJRT-TV.

Court records filed by Latunski's public defense attorney claim that he is "so fixated on a conspiracy theory including multiple nations/countries and involved in multiple trust accounts,” according to The Associated Press.

Bacon’s funeral was held Friday. Kevin Bacon, the actor, even paid tribute to the slain hairdresser, stating, “his life was taken from him much too soon. His love was hair dressing. I bet he would have done a great job on this mess on my head. RIP KB.”
