Kentucky Mom Disappears After Leaving Bar

Human remains have been discovered and an arrest has been made in connection with the disappearance of missing Kentucky mother of four Savannah Spurlock.

Spurlock was last seen leaving bar with three men in January. One of those men, David Sparks, was arrested and now faces charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence. He was arrested Thursday after investigators said they found human remains buried at his home, WKYT in Lexington, Kentucky reports. It's not clear where on the property the remains were found.

Sparks’ home is the last place that Spurlock supposedly visited with the three men from the bar before she went missing. When originally interviewed, the men said she left the home by herself before going missing, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported. All three were questioned and released. Despite not being charged, Sparks remained the primary suspect in the mother’s disappearance, WKYT reports.

Spurlock, who has four children including twins less than a year old, disappeared on Jan. 4 after going out to a local Lexington establishment called "The Other Bar.” Law enforcement believes she was taken from the bar in a vehicle with two of the men she met while the third man followed in a separate vehicle.

Spurlock vanished days before her 23rd birthday.

Investigators were tipped off Wednesday after someone noticed a foul smell coming from Spark’s residence, WKYT reports. In addition to human remains, investigators said the also found other pieces of evidence related to the case. The home was previously searched not long after Spurlock vanished. It belongs to Sparks' parents, according to WLEX-TV.

The remains will be taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office. They have not officially been identified as Spurlock’s and are reportedly heavily decomposed.

It’s not clear if Sparks has a lawyer who can speak on his behalf at this time.

Since Spurlock went missing six months ago, her family and friends have been begging for answers.

Spurlock’s father, Cecil Spurlock, told Fox News in February, “them boys know something. Someone knows something out there.”

Previously corn fields and a cave were searched for any trace of her.
