Nicki Minaj has had quite an eventful weekend. Her arch nemesis Remy Ma released "ShETHER," a scathing, nearly 7-minute diss track all about Nicki, and the social media fallout has been extremely messy, to say the least. Aside from the internet roasting her to hell and back, Remy's diss track also led Nicki into a feud with past collaborator Trey Songz.
At one point on the track, Remy raps, "Only time you touched a trigga is when you f*cked Trey Songz," clearly insinuating that Nicki and Trey have hooked up at some point. People rushed to try and find the receipts, pointing to this tweet from 2015 as (shaky) evidence that Trey acknowledged the rumors a few years back.
Trey responded to all the attention on Twitter, writing, "Even when you stay out of the way they will have ya name all in some sh*t. Wake up to new comedy everyday focus."
Well, Nicki wasn't too pleased with that, and responded, "Lol. Wut u SHOULD b saying is that it's not true, seeing as it's not. Real n---z do real things. I done gotchu 6 million plaques."
After that, Trey responds by letting Nicki know that he did, in fact, deny Remy's claims in an Instagram video that has since been deleted.
"You need to be mad at Remy, Nicki," Trey wrote. "Cause if you check my Instagram feed I already denied it on video so words don't get misconstrued."
Nicki must have missed it though, and responded again, writing, "U shouldn't have posted Smthn indirect in the first place. N*ggaz out here indirectly lyin on they d*ck now. bless your heart."
"I didn't post anything indirect," Trey fired back. "I gathered a understanding of events and then spoke my piece. You just mad. I still love you."
Yikes. In Trey's defense, he did post a video denying that he and Nicki hooked up, which you can check out below.
