Serena Williams is slaying this whole pregnancy thing. The tennis star is expected to give birth to her first child with fiance Alexis Ohanian soon, and has been glowing in every photo we've seen of her. She recently bared her belly for Ireland's Stellar magazine, making for a stunning cover photo.
While many fans seem to be digging the photo, what's rubbed some the wrong way is the interview that accompanied it. While discussing childbirth, Serena commented that she's "about to be a real woman" by having a child.
"I have so much respect for so many women [for giving birth]," Serena said. "I am about to be a real woman now, you know? It's going to be something incredibly impressive to go through."
Some on social media have taken issue with Serena's "real woman" comment, arguing that it's offensive to equate childbirth with being a "real woman." What do you think? Did Serena misspeak? You can check out some of the responses on social media below.
