Lisa Montgomery Granted Stay Of Execution

On Jan. 11, Judge Patrick Hanlon granted the stay, citing the need to determine Lisa Montgomery’s mental competence. Montgomery killed an expectant mother in Missouri, cut the baby from her womb and passed off the newborn as her own.
