While investigating the disappearance of David Thomas, investigators uncover he had a prior brush with the law. Before Thomas vanished, a secretary with whom Thomas was having an affair reported him to police after he broke off their relationship. She told law enforcement Thomas had plans to poison a bottle of wine to kill his wife, Annie Thomas, which Annie believed was implausible.
