Retired Clare County Sheriff’s Department detective Mark McMellan discusses the case of Randy Laufer, a 15-year-old boy who was abducted and murdered by his neighbor, John Rodney McRae. While McRae was ultimately found guilty of first-degree murder, he only spent three weeks in prison before he died of natural causes.
