The inmate claims Ellis was shot because "he was close to an investigation of a ring of storage shed burglaries and business burglaries."

Investigative journalists Jessica Noll and Shay McAlister vow to ask tough questions of law enforcement and elected leaders — and investigate if there are still killers at large.

The inmate told reporter Stephanie Bauer that "a garage or some kind of structure" had been burned down to hide the evidence.

When pressed for details about how he knew it was gang initiation, he said, "Well, I know they was tortured."

The inmate said he overheard a fellow convict claim that "Crystal wasn't in Bardstown."

"I knew I seen something," said the witness.

The car was parked in "a peculiar location" near a farm owned by the mother of Rogers' boyfriend, allegedly the last person to see her alive. 

 "I just hope it's my answer," said Rogers' mother, Sherry Ballard.

During a search for Crystal Rogers at Melody Lake, a cadaver dog alerted, indicating the possible scent of human remains.

"It's not an accident — it's an assassination of your daddy," a ballistics expert told Tommy's son Casey Ballard.
