Test Your Florida Knowledge — Are These ‘Florida Man’ Headlines Real Or Fake?

They may sound totally outrageous, but some of these “Florida Man” headlines are 100 percent true.

Your First Look at the New Series Floribama Murders

If someone’s entire knowledge of Florida came from crime news, they would … probably be a little afraid to ever step into the state. While the Sunshine State is home to vibrant cities like Miami, palm tree-dotted beaches, and the ultimate kid fantasy at Walt Disney World, crime news headlines describe a wild place where men with face tattoos wield machetes and women bite a camel’s testicles for revenge. No, really.

How to Watch

Catch up on Floribama Murders on Peacock or the Oxygen App.

In fact, there are so many bizarre crime stories like these, they’ve now been grouped as “Florida Man” headlines and even spawned all sorts of internet games (type “Florida Man” and your birth date into Google’s search engine to get your own “Florida Man” headline, for example).

So, now we’re putting you to the test. Can you figure out which of these outrageous headlines happened in real life and which one is (thankfully) untrue?

Then if you’re looking for more Florida crime stories once you’re done putting your “Florida Man” knowledge to the test, watch Oxygens series “Floribama Murders,” airing Saturday, January 7 at 9/8c on Oxygen.
